Meet JT!
My name is JT Carney, and I grew up on Long Island, NY, for the majority of my life, before heading to Penn State University for undergrad. Sports have always been a big part of my life, and I like to stay active outdoors whenever I can. Since my NY Jets always disappoint, one of the highlights throughout college was getting to watch Saquon Barkley play for PSU Football.
After graduating, COVID brought everyone back home for a bit, so I spent a year on Long Island before moving into Manhattan, where I’ve been living for the past four years.

Tell us a surprising fact about yourself…
I’ve traveled to over 22 countries and counting.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation - I would love the ability to instantly connect with clients and prospects face-to-face anywhere in the world without having to travel.
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
Working out, golfing, fantasy football, and most importantly, traveling around the world and trying new restaurants!
Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
I’m an Account Executive, coming up on my 1-year Rhymetec anniversary this October. I support our go-to-market efforts by closing deals, building strong partner relationships, and driving growth into new markets.
Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
I previously worked at DTCC (Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) in financial services, but shifted into the cybersecurity industry due to conversations with friends and family who work in the industry. During COVID, the need for cybersecurity increased significantly after most organizations shifted to WFH and cyber attacks became much more common.
I knew it was an industry that would exponentially grow and wanted to be part of an industry leading organization to protect against such attacks. My shift in career mostly stemmed from my passion for sales and wanting to generate revenue for an organization and be a part of something bigger.

What is your favorite part about working at Rhymetec, or in the cybersecurity industry?
My favorite part is the culture at Rhymetec and how fast cybersecurity is always evolving. I love working with a team that’s constantly growing, collaborating, and pushing each other to stay ahead of the curve. No two days are the same, and you’re always discovering new risks, technologies, and customer challenges.
What is your favorite quote or the best advice you have ever received?
“Seek first to understand, then to be understood.”
From a security or compliance perspective, what advice would you give to a potential client or SaaS business?
Businesses should start viewing compliance as an ongoing program, not a one-time project. It’s not just about passing an audit; it’s about building habits and processes that actually make your business more secure and easier to scale.

If you treat it like a box-checking exercise, you’ll always feel like you’re scrambling. By embedding security and compliance into day-to-day operations, you reduce risk, build customer trust, and avoid the fire drills that come when compliance is treated as a last-minute hurdle.

Meet Hunter!
Hi! My name is Hunter Moreno, and I'm a cybersecurity analyst at Rhymetec. My path to where I am today wasn't traditional. I wanted to delay taking out student loans until I reached university, so I worked in IT full-time while in community college, taking just a class or two each semester as I could afford them.
After receiving my associate's degree, I transferred to university for my bachelor's in cybersecurity. During this time, I got my first cybersecurity role with an oil and energy company where I handled security for their locations across the USA, Colombia, and Mexico. This experience gave me hands-on experience with endpoint security, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response. Most importantly, it taught me to adjust my communication to align with a non-technical audience, as many breaches result from human error, too many tools, or not enough tools.
I recently finished my master's degree in Information Technology with a focus in Information Security. However, my education journey is not over just yet! I plan to start studying pen testing and obtaining certifications.

Tell us a surprising fact about yourself…
I grew up on a ranch in a small town with just one stoplight! I even had a computer with dial-up internet in our barn!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I'd love the power to instantly teach cybersecurity awareness to elderly people everywhere. Elderly people are often targeted by scammers and cybercriminals, and being able to help them recognize and avoid these threats would prevent tremendous financial and emotional damage.
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love rock 'n' roll music and going to concerts! I actually got to combine this passion with my studies - my master's capstone project involved creating a database related to music.
Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
I'm a cybersecurity analyst at Rhymetec, where I've been working since September 2024. I help our customers achieve compliance with standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA. My daily responsibilities vary quite a bit, which keeps the work interesting, but typically include setting up monitoring alarms in AWS and Azure environments, creating security policies, and running compliance tests. I also conduct vendor reviews and risk assessments, manage device compliance configurations like encryption and MFA setup, oversee mobile device management security, and perform internal audits. A significant part of my work involves gathering evidence for compliance audits and conducting employee security reviews.
Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
My grandfather let me play games on a computer starting around age 5 because he knew computers were the future, and I've been hooked on technology ever since. Growing up, I had to run a 25-foot dial-up cord to the barn just to get more computer time!
As I got deeper into technology during my studies, I was trying to figure out which direction to take my career. I learned that cybersecurity was a rapidly growing field with great opportunities, and that practical aspect really appealed to me. Combined with my fascination with how technology works and the challenge of protecting digital systems, cybersecurity felt like the perfect fit.
What is your favorite part about working at Rhymetec, or in the cybersecurity industry?
I love that cybersecurity is like being a digital protector. Our job is to see threats you don't until it's too late. Every day brings different challenges and puzzles to solve, whether it's helping a client set up better security controls or investigating a potential threat. Plus, the field changes so quickly that I'm always learning something new, which keeps the work exciting.
What is your favorite quote or the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received came from my mother and grandmother: “Education is the one thing no one can ever take from you.” That belief shaped my approach to life. It taught me that knowledge builds independence, creates opportunity, and empowers you to navigate challenges on your own terms. I carried that mindset through working my way through school and earning my master’s degree, and it continues to guide me today. Whether it’s formal education or self-taught skills, I believe continuous learning is one of the most powerful tools anyone can have.

From a security or compliance perspective, what advice would you give to a potential client or SaaS business?
My biggest piece of advice is to never assume your security controls are working just because someone says they are. I've seen too many cases in my career where servers and systems were thought to be secure, but when we actually verified the controls, we found significant gaps. Often this happens because security measures weren't properly documented or the implementation was never completed as planned.
Compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001 aren't just regulatory requirements - they provide crucial verification that your security controls are actually in place and functioning as intended. Beyond the technical benefits, achieving compliance also demonstrates to your customers and stakeholders that you take security seriously. In today's business environment, that visible commitment to protecting data can be a real competitive advantage.

Meet Sam!
I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and later moved to Charleston, South Carolina for college, where I earned my Master of Science in Information and Computer Sciences. My career began in IT support, where I worked in both the banking and healthcare industries.
Over time, I transitioned into cybersecurity, and for several years I’ve worked as an Information Security Analyst with a strong focus in the healthcare sector. About a year ago, I joined Rhymetec, where I continue to build on my cybersecurity expertise. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, gaming (both video and board games), working out, and relaxing at the beach.

Tell us a surprising fact about yourself…
Despite growing up biking, skateboarding, and playing sports like basketball and soccer, I’ve never broken a bone or been admitted to a hospital. Knock on wood.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower, it would be time travel. I’ve always had an interest in history, and the idea of being able to witness significant events or explore different eras firsthand really fascinates me.
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
Spending time at the beach with my fiance, traveling any chance I can, staying active, and enjoying get togethers with my close friends, and family.
Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
I’ve been with Rhymetec for a year, working as a Cyber Security Analyst. In my role, I support our clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with various frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, and others. My day-to-day responsibilities involve managing project tasks related to audit preparedness, conducting audits for both internal and external clients, and responding to a wide
range of cybersecurity-related client needs.

Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
Ironically, my academic path began with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, but I’ve always had a strong interest in computers and technology. That interest led me to take computer science courses and eventually pursue a graduate degree in Information and Computer Sciences. I started my career in IT support, working in both the banking and healthcare sectors, where I gained hands-on technical experience and a solid foundation in the IT field.
From the beginning, my goal was to transition into cybersecurity. I saw it as a field that was rapidly evolving, full of complex challenges, and deeply connected to real-world outcomes. What fascinates me most about cybersecurity is the pace of change, the constant need to adapt and learn, and the critical role it plays in protecting people, organizations, and data. It’s a career that keeps me engaged, challenged, and continuously growing.
What is your favorite part about working at Rhymetec, or in the cybersecurity industry?
What I love most about working at Rhymetec is the culture and the team. I’m surrounded by dedicated and talented professionals who not only support one another and our clients but also create an environment where growth and development are encouraged. The company has given me the tools and opportunities to grow in this role and continue maturing as a cybersecurity analyst.

What is your favorite quote or the best advice you have ever received?
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received was: “You don’t have to know everything, just be willing to learn.” It came from a mentor early in my career, and it resonates, especially in a field like cybersecurity, where things are constantly evolving. It’s easy to feel like you’re always trying to catch up, but curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to grow are often more valuable than having all the answers upfront. It’s shaped how I approach challenges, new roles, and even how I support others on my team.
From a security or compliance perspective, what advice would you give to a potential client or SaaS business?
The best advice I would give to a potential client is to build security and compliance into your processes early, not as an afterthought. It’s far more efficient and cost effective to design your systems, policies, and workflows with frameworks like SOC 2 or ISO 27001, in mind from the start, rather than retrofitting them later.
Also, don’t treat compliance as a checkbox exercise. The goal should be to create a security-first culture where protecting data and earning user trust are prioritized. This means investing in monitoring, documentation, employee training, and proactive risk management—not just preparing for the next audit.
Rhymetec can help clients achieve these goals by providing guidance tailored to your specific compliance needs, whether it's SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or others. We work closely with clients to build sustainable security programs, prepare for audits, and implement best practices that align with both regulatory requirements and business objectives.

Meet Vic!
My name is Vic DeBenedetto, and I grew up in the Philly suburbs (Go Birds!).
Growing up for me consisted of lots of sports practices during the school year and spending summers down at Long Beach Island, NJ. Although, like most kids, I tried every sport there was, the two that stuck were football and lacrosse. In the summer, I hung up the cleats and was a stand up paddleboard instructor at my local marina.
After college at Penn State, I moved back to Philly. After a 4-year stint in the city, I recently settled in the suburbs.
Tell us a surprising fact about yourself…
When I was 18, I explored every career path that didn't involve going to college. My top two options that I can remember were enlisting in the military or becoming a barber. I'm not sure what drove that, but I'm glad I ended up where I am!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to completely block out distractions and focus at will. In a world that's constantly buzzing with notifications (Slack especially) and competing priorities, having consistent focus would be a game-changer - not just for productivity, but for being fully present in everything I do.
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
My favorite thing to do outside of work is golf. While my handicap is still in the double-digits, I have the bug and try to get out as much as possible! In the winter, I'm an avid skier and try to book at least one trip a year. Outside of that, I do CrossFit every morning before work to start the day, which never fails to humble me. On the weekends, if I'm not on the golf course or in the gym, I'm usually either trying new restaurants out or hanging out with friends and family.

Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
I have been working at Rhymetec for over a year—but it feels like so much longer (in the best way)! As an Account Executive, I'm responsible for bringing new business into Rhymetec and expanding our reach. I work closely with our incredible partners to identify prospects who are a strong fit for our services and guide them through their compliance and cybersecurity journeys, from initial discovery to onboarding. My role is a mix of consulting, partner relationship-building, and sales, which keeps every day interesting.
What I love most about working at Rhymetec is the combination of people and purpose. I truly believe we have the best team and culture; everyone is driven, supportive, and fun to work with. I feel inspired every time I open my laptop and genuinely look forward to the conversations and challenges each day brings. It's rewarding to know that the work we do makes a real difference for our clients, helping them feel confident and secure as they grow.
Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
I came from a marketing technology background, and while I enjoyed that space, I was looking for something that felt more like a need rather than a nice-to-have. That's what drew me to cybersecurity. It's an industry that's not just growing rapidly—it's essential. Every company, no matter the size or industry, needs to take security seriously, and I found that really compelling.
I didn't always plan on working in cybersecurity, but once I learned more about the space, I was completely bought in. The constant evolution of threats and the high stakes involved make it both fascinating and meaningful. I love that the work we do helps companies protect what matters most and gives them the confidence to keep moving forward.
What is your favorite part about working at Rhymetec, or in the cybersecurity industry?
One of my favorite parts is getting to collaborate with such great partners. We work with some of the best in the industry, and it's rewarding to be part of a network that's all working toward the same goal: helping companies strengthen their security and achieve compliance. The relationships we've built with our partners make the work not only effective but also enjoyable—I'm constantly learning and growing through them.

What is your favorite quote or the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice I've ever received came from my dad, who always reminded me: "God gave you two ears and one mouth, so listen twice as much as you speak." It's simple but powerful, and it's stuck with me throughout my personal and professional life. Whether I'm in a meeting, on a sales call, or just having a conversation, I've found that really listening—rather than thinking about what to say next—makes all the difference. It helps build trust, uncover real needs, and create stronger connections.
From a security or compliance perspective, what advice would you give to a potential client or SaaS business?
When advising a potential client or SaaS business from a security or compliance perspective, I would emphasize the importance of adopting both a proactive and holistic approach to data protection and regulatory adherence. A reactive and narrow will always lead to a large-scale data breach and loss of customer trust.
At Rhymetec, we understand that a proactive and holistic security program involves implementing various controls across multiple security domains including, but not limited to, risk management, incident management, cryptography and access management. Additionally, staying informed about relevant regulations—such as GDPR, HIPAA, or DORA—and regularly ensuring that your practices align with these standards is essential for maintaining compliance and building trust with your clients.

Meet Matt!
I'm an analyst based in GA who graduated from Kennesaw State University with my Bachelor's in Cybersecurity in May of 2023. I also dabble in some other technical work too! I consider myself a handyman as I can work with a lot of various tools and know that I have the capacity to do more in the future.
Outside of technical work, I like to make digital art and do landscaping. I took a lot after my grandpa, who was a multi-talented man and who knew how to get stuff done!
Tell us a surprising fact about yourself…
I'm not quite ambidextrous, but I've taught myself how to do a lot of things with my left hand! All things outside of writing, that is. Maybe I'll get there someday!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation. We lose a lot of time due to travel and being in-between places… It'd be a convenient power, however, I'd probably become super out of shape and chunky because I'd get lazy and never move anywhere normally as a result…
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
I jog in the mornings and like to go on a trail during the weekends. I also like to tinker with electronics and fiddle with gadgets whenever I have the opportunity to do so!
Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
It's currently my one-year anniversary at Rhymetec! My role is to help aid my project manager in his work by better understanding our clientele's environments and programs so I can assist with inquiries and even offer suggestions or analysis on how they can better improve their security standing.
I really like working here because it's exposing me to a wide variety of tools and environments that I probably wouldn't have encountered so soon. The experience that I'm receiving here will be invaluable for the rest of my career! I can also kind of brag to my buddies that I can conduct ISO/IEC audits too.
Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
I originally majored in Engineering before finding that a lot of the theory wasn't sticking to me. I'm more of a hands-on person who works better with several manuals in front of me and enough time to make things happen. I was pursuing interests in IT/CS after the fact before finding that Cybersecurity had the right level of "hands-on” that interested me.
As to how I ended up with Cybersecurity, funnily enough, there was a representative who came into one of my lectures while I was in university who tipped me off to considering a degree change with Cyber!

What is your favorite part about working at Rhymetec, or in the cybersecurity industry?
Lots to learn everywhere. Cybersecurity is as much of a theory as it is a concept. It concerns itself with information technology and similarly connected devices. In the end, it's risk management, contingency planning, and fortifying defenses! It's an ever-evolving race towards what guards our assets in the best possible way, with more creative and unique ways continuing to be found for people to defend (or even attack) with!
What is the best advice you have ever received?
I read this from an art book and have it pinned on my wall since it applies to many areas outside of art:
"TALENT: Don't bother about whether or not you have it. Just assume that you do, and then forget about it. Talent is a word we use after someone has become accomplished. There is no way to detect it before the fact, or when someone is still grappling with the learning process. It is impossible to predict when or if mastery will click into place. Besides, the thing we label as talent is not a single ability. It is a complex mixture of motive, curiosity, receptivity, intelligence, sensitivity, good teaching, perseverance, timing, sheer luck, and countless other things. If any part of it is genetic, God-given, the result of astrological fiddle-faddle, fate, or destiny, that part is not the sole determining factor. All the other ingredients must be present in the right combination–and no one knows the exact recipe. Therefore Dear Reader, don't waste time worrying if you are talented—and don't blame any failures on the lack of it–that is really a cop-out."
- Richard Schmid, "Alla Prima II – Everything I Know About Painting - and More"

From a security or compliance perspective, what advice would you give to a potential client or SaaS business?
This one's a tough one, as I'm still relatively fresh out of university! I feel like more of a senior role or more experienced member could give better insight here… that, or I'd be parroting them, which isn't a bad thing! I think the best advice I could give is:
"Which would you prefer: the pain of diligence or the pain of regret?"
This could apply to a lot with regards to ensuring that appropriate preventive measures are in-place against threats and threat actors.

Meet Kelsey!
Hello! My name is Kelsey. I grew up in Groton, Massachusetts - think cows, farms, and a lot of trails for biking, walking, and exploring nature. Growing up, I spent every summer at my Nana's beach house in North Hampton, NH, with my brothers. During the school year, my studies, field hockey, and exploring the huge woodlands behind my house was all that mattered! Post high school, I got my Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a minor in Psychology at Emmanuel College in Boston, MA. I stayed in Boston for a couple of years, living with my best friend and the city life. It was amazing, and ultimately started my HR career as an Administrative Assistant as I slowly took on more HR responsibilities. I couldn't imagine a different career path!

Tell us a surprising fact about yourself…
I've always loved to write, especially poetry. I'm slowly working towards a huge personal goal of creating and publishing my first poetry book under a pseudonym.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would want the superpower to communicate with all animals - mammals, birds, insects, fish, etc. I'm extremely passionate about all animals and believe it's our obligation as humans to treat all wildlife with respect and compassion. To have the ability to communicate with them directly would allow us as humans to better serve the Earth and live in a symbiotic world with them.
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I love to immerse myself in nature and new activities. I try to get my outside-of-work creative juices flowing, and that looks like:
1. LOTS of nature walks, camping, and hikes!
There are so many beautiful places near me, and I try to do at least 3 new hikes a month on the weekends.
2. *Trying* to play the ukulele - I'm self-taught, but it's fun learning new chords and painfully trying to sing along.
3. Writing poetry and short stories, often inspired by my surroundings. I'll take my writing notebook to the beach and listen to some music or take in the scenery for inspiration.
4. Exploring new restaurants and different cuisines. I love food and don’t shy away from trying unique dishes. I have a running Excel spreadsheet with every restaurant I've eaten at in Santa Barbara since moving here, and the list grows almost every week (my wallet doesn't like this hobby of mine).
5. Working out has been a huge part of my life most recently, and I've focused on moving my body every day and lifting weights. It's the best stress reliever, and has helped me get stronger with trying to surf the California waves!

Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
I've been at Rhymetec for almost a full year, and lead our people initiatives as our People Operations Specialist.
For Rhymetec and our employees, I manage:
- Talent Acquisition processes from curating job descriptions, building candidate pipelines, and conducting the recruiting process from initial phone screen to onboarding new hires
- Internal HR compliance
- Implementation of HR technologies and manage existing HR technologies
- Performance Management
- Training, Learning, & Development
Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
I'd been in the technology industry for the last 4 years, working at a Financial Technology company (in HR) before pursuing Rhymetec. I love working in tech - it's fast-paced and challenging, and you're constantly learning! The work is rewarding as well - helping companies (internal and external) achieve their goals in the cybersecurity space is vital for their success. When I saw the opportunity to work with and for Rhymetec, it felt like a natural next step for me to get into the cybersecurity world from FinTech.
What is your favorite part about working at Rhymetec, or in the cybersecurity industry?
First and foremost, our leadership team and employees are incredible. They have taught me so much about cybersecurity in the last year working with them, and never shy away from a learning moment or giving insights into what is happening in the industry to support me in recruiting or internal efforts.
Working within cybersecurity has taught me how important it is to stay digitally vigilant. I'm able to share this knowledge with my friends, family, and others to stay protected against scams and hackers, and keeping their data safe.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
"Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
This is a quote I keep in my back pocket. I used to be afraid to put myself out there professionally and personally. Whether it's speaking my mind, disagreeing with an internal process, or having a solution in mind to enhance something that isn't working. This quote is the best life rule to me. If you don't put yourself in new, uncomfortable experiences, your life will stay stagnant. Growth and challenging myself, as I believe with others, is extremely important to creating a meaningful life. To have the confidence in yourself to simply experience new things is hard. But trusting yourself and your decisions will catapult you into beautiful things. We should never be afraid to "do the hard thing", and show up as our most authentic selves while doing it.

From a security or compliance perspective, what advice would you give to a potential client or SaaS business?
Security and compliance are not just checkboxes — they're the foundation of trust in any SaaS business. My biggest piece of advice is to prioritize security from day one. Don't wait for an audit or a client request to start thinking about compliance; build a proactive security culture that evolves with your business and ensure you have the right MSSP support in place.
Regular risk assessments, employee security training, and a strong incident response plan can make all the difference. At Rhymetec, we help SaaS companies navigate complex frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI, ensuring they stay secure, compliant, and ahead of emerging threats. Our passion for supporting compliance and cybersecurity comes from a deep place of understanding SaaS business models and how to stay congruent with emerging trends within cybersecurity & compliance.

Meet Kyle!
Hi, I'm Kyle! I grew up in Dacula, Georgia which is about 45 minutes outside of Atlanta. My childhood mostly consisted of playing sports year-round while maintaining good study habits. After high school, I went to Kennesaw State University, where I majored in Psychology with a keen interest in human consciousness. During my freshman summer, I was fortunate enough to land a job as a systems administrator, and that’s where my tech career began.

Tell us a surprising fact about yourself…
I have over 1,000 books in my home library and some of them date back to the mid-1800s.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
If I could have a superpower, it would be the ability to manipulate time. This superpower is important to me because time is one of the fundamental substances of life. Being able to rewind, pause, and fast forward time would allow so many key benefits such as:
- Changing the things I regret (haha)
- Extra time for learning and personal development
- Preventing accidents or dangerous situations
- Experiencing more life
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of activities that help me unwind and explore my passions. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Outdoor Activities: I love spending time in nature, whether it’s hiking on local trails or running around the area. The fresh air and beautiful scenery are always refreshing!
- Writing: Writing is a significant passion of mine. I enjoy crafting stories, articles, or even journaling my thoughts and experiences. It allows me to express my creativity and communicate ideas effectively.
- Reading: I’m an avid reader and enjoy diving into different genres, especially psychology and personal development books. It’s a great way to escape and gain new perspectives.
- Fitness: Staying active is important to me, so I regularly go to the gym and do High-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts. It helps me maintain a healthy lifestyle and boosts my mood.
- Technical Analysis: I have a keen interest in technical analysis, particularly in financial markets. I spend time analyzing charts and trends, which not only sharpens my analytical skills but also keeps me informed about global market dynamics.
Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
I have been working at Rhymetec for a little more than 2 years and started as a Cloud Compliance Analyst.
Currently, as the Information Security Manager at Rhymetec, my role consists of the following responsibilities:
- Service, Quality Efficiency Improvements
- Internal and External Procedure Maintenance
- Security Team Management Support
- Security Team Training
I love working for Rhymetec because as someone who is addicted to growth, I am confident there’s not a better environment to reach your full potential as a cloud security professional. Also, I have always had a strong passion for the startup space and even invested in companies prior to starting at Rhymetec. Being involved with the companies that will become household names in the near future is extremely exciting.
Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
As a psychology major, cybersecurity was the last thing I imagined making a career. Though I worked in tech throughout college, I was confident that I would spend my working years as a relationship therapist and launch attachment nurseries around the globe. Then, I started to learn about cybersecurity in 2018, considering its upside potential and overall business value. It seemed more innovative to focus on securing the development of technology rather than focus on the insecurities that have developed within people.
I also have some natural attractions to cybersecurity as well such as:
- My passion for problem-solving
- The dynamic and ever-changing nature of the field
- The opportunity to protect people and organizations from threats

What is your favorite part about working at Rhymetec, or in the cybersecurity industry?
There's nothing more exciting than staying one step ahead of cybercriminals, protecting people's digital lives, and maintaining a strong reputation for the companies we protect.
The constant learning, the chance to use the technology of the future, and knowing that my work directly prevents cyber attacks make my career at Rhymetec incredibly rewarding.
What is your favorite quote or the best advice you have ever received?
I spent a lot of time reading Albert Einstein, who provides great insights and perspectives on all parts of life. One of the most impactful pieces of advice I encountered is his quote: “Strive not to be a man of success, but rather to be a man of value.”
This statement resonates deeply with me as it emphasizes the importance of contributing positively to the world rather than merely chasing accolades or material. In a society that often measures success by material, this perspective serves as a reminder that true fulfillment comes from making meaningful contributions.

Meet Eden!
Hi! I'm Eden - yes, like the Garden of. I was born and raised in Connecticut and don't plan on leaving as it's been home for 34 years!
I attended Marist College for both undergraduate and graduate school. I have a BA in TV/Radio/Film and an MA in Marketing! While working in experiential events, I found a love for marketing and wanted to broaden my knowledge, so I returned to school.
I am very family-oriented and pride myself on being the “cool" aunt to my nieces, who are more like my best friends. I also have a cat named Luna (named after Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter) who likes to make her appearance on calls frequently.

Tell us a surprising fact about yourself…
I was on MTV TRL in the early 2000s! I was deemed the Jonas Brothers' biggest fan but lost out in the trivia competition to another fan. Don't ask me to find the footage of it… it's buried with my past love for the JoBros.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I'd want to be able to fly. It would be great to get anywhere faster, especially when there's traffic!
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
One of my favorite things is going to concerts—especially K-pop ones! There’s something different about the performances; I'm in awe of the talent.
I am also a shopaholic and love going shopping. In good weather, I also enjoy going to amusement parks as I consider myself a rollercoaster junkie. If time and money were no object, I would also travel a ton more. I love sightseeing and exploring new places!
Lastly, I love to bake. The more challenging the recipe, the more likely I will try it! It's relaxing to me, and then I get excited when others get to try it and admit that it came out good!

Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
I'm a marketing associate at Rhymetec. I focus on lead generation, email campaigns, events/webinars, and partnerships. I have also been crowned the meme queen on social media!
Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
I come from a background in haircare/beauty, CPG, and, more recently, SaaS, so cybersecurity was a brand new venture for me when I pursued my position at Rhymetec.
After being here for 7 months, I’ve learned how fascinating it is and being able to pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry now has been extremely rewarding for me.
Like I tell everyone, I grew up on the computer rather than playing outside with friends. I’ve always been interested in anything and everything related to technology, so learning about cybersecurity has piqued my interest further and, I feel, comes naturally to me. So naturally that I am currently studying for my Security+ certification!
What is your favorite part about working at Rhymetec, or in the cybersecurity industry?
My favorite part about working at Rhymetec is I am constantly learning new things. I am also surrounded by some of the most intelligent, kind, and knowledgeable people who make every day here feel like home. I am grateful for this opportunity and so lucky to work with such amazing people daily!
What is the best advice you have ever received?
My mom has always taught me to love myself first. Whether in my work or self-esteem, you need to love and believe in yourself before you can expect anyone else to return the love and confidence. When you feel confident, everything else will come naturally to you.

From a security or compliance perspective, what advice would you give to a potential client or SaaS business?
I would tell a potential client or SaaS business to TRUST Rhymetec! Not because I work here or anything - but because we have some of the most robust services, and our team is smart, quick, and ready to work. We have some of the best cybersecurity analysts and penetration testers in the game. Always trust your gut with the best in the business—it'll be worth it when you gain your certifications and become compliant!

Give me the powers of Statics Shock, the ability to control electricity!
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy a variety of hobbies which include video games and car meets, as well as travel.
And of course, who doesn't love sleep?
Tell us about your role at Rhymetec…
I was hired in February and work as a Cloud Security Compliance Analyst; my responsibilities include driving compliance programs to maturity and preparing them for audits.
I also perform audits here and offer our clients insight into the Cybersecurity Industry based on my knowledge and experience.
Why did you pursue a career in the cybersecurity industry?
I always knew I wanted to be in Cybersecurity since I was 14 and moved out of state to pursue my career.
I have the natural aptitude and gifts for cybersecurity related principles and I feel confident every day because I am doing what I love, and just happen to be pretty good at it, so I've been told.
What is your favorite quote or the best advice you have ever received?
"There is no losing, either you win, or you learn, and try again".

From a security or compliance perspective, what advice would you give to a potential client or SaaS business?
Rhymetec clients receive benefits beyond just Compliance Attestation for Trust Certifications (Such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001).
Though this is important and drives value and revenue for every business, there are other benefits that should also be recognized.
Ultimately, there is a huge misconception that "Security" and "Compliance" are equivalent and this is simply not true; Rhymetec addresses this divergence with our blended offerings which simultaneously educate our clients on best practices and industry standards while providing easy to understand guidance to help promote security awareness.
Between all our staff we employ decades of expertise from a wide range of backgrounds within the cybersecurity industry that contributes to our unique insight and ability to protect our clients' businesses from cyber risk.
